Privacy Policy

This policy describes what happens to your data when you use PaintingPricing Calculator ("we," "us," "the Site") at paintingpricingcalculator.com — the free tools, the Pro workspace, the contact form, and license recovery. In short: your estimates and project data never leave your browser, we don't use cookies or tracking of any kind, and there is no user account or password anywhere on the Site.

What we collect, and where it's stored

Estimates and project data (job costs, rooms, surfaces, your business info, your customer's name/address/contact info if you enter it). This is stored entirely in your own browser, using IndexedDB — a local database built into your browser, not a server we run. We never receive a copy of it, we cannot see it, and we cannot recover it if you clear your browser's storage or switch devices. If you want a copy elsewhere, use the export/backup feature inside the tool itself.

Contact form submissions (name, email, subject, message). When you submit the contact form, that information is sent as a one-time email to our own inbox so we can read and reply to it. It is not written to any database — there isn't one — and we don't use it for anything other than responding to your message.

License recovery requests (the email address you paid with). If you use "Forgot your key?" to recover a lost Pro license, the email address you enter is used only to look up a matching completed payment with our payment processor, Dodo Payments, and — if a match is found — to send that one recovery email. We don't store the email address you type into that form.

Payment information. We never see or store your card details at all — Dodo Payments' own hosted checkout page collects that directly. When a payment succeeds, Dodo tells us the payment id and, for the purchase-confirmation email, the name and email you checked out with. We use that only to send you your license key; we don't keep a customer database of our own.

What we don't do

• No cookies, of any kind.
• No analytics, tracking scripts, ad networks, or third-party pixels — the Site currently runs none.
• No user accounts, passwords, or logins.
• We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
• We don't share your data with anyone except the third-party services below, and only as needed to run the Site.

Third-party services we use

• Dodo Payments — processes the one-time Pro purchase and hosts the checkout page. See Dodo's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
• Google (Gmail) — we send license-key, license recovery, and contact-form emails through a Gmail account.
• Vercel — hosts the Site. Standard web server logs (like IP address and request timing) may be retained by Vercel as part of normal hosting infrastructure; we don't access these for tracking purposes.

How long we keep things

Your local project data stays on your device for as long as you keep it there — we have no way to delete it remotely, because we never had a copy. Emails you send us (contact form, license recovery, order confirmations) live in our email inbox subject to normal email retention; contact us if you'd like an email you sent us deleted.

Your choices

• Clear your browser's site data for paintingpricingcalculator.com at any time to permanently delete all local project data.
• Export a backup from inside the tool before clearing storage or switching browsers/devices, if you want to keep it.
• Contact us to ask what, if anything, we hold about you.

Children's privacy

The Site is a professional tool for painting contractors and small businesses and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
