This page explains what PaintingPricing Calculator's numbers actually are, so there's no confusion between "a calculation based on what you typed in" and "professional advice you can rely on without checking it." Please read it before using any figure from this tool in a real quote to a real customer.
Estimates only — not a guarantee
Every number the Site produces — cost, price, margin, paint/material quantities, labor hours — is a calculation based entirely on the values you enter. It is an estimate, not a guarantee of your actual costs, the outcome of any specific job, or your resulting profit. Actual material usage, labor time, waste, and site conditions can and do differ from any estimate.
Not professional advice
Nothing on the Site is financial, accounting, tax, legal, or contracting advice. It's a calculation aid built around the formulas and inputs you provide — it doesn't know your local market rates, your business's real overhead, your contracts, or your obligations under any law or licensing requirement that applies to you.
Sample figures are illustrative only
Any example prices, rates, or margins shown on the Site (including on the homepage and in the Pro preview) are illustrative examples of how the tool works — they are not recommended market rates and shouldn't be used as a benchmark for what to charge.
You decide what to charge
The Site shows you how a proposed price relates to your entered costs and target margin. It does not, and is not meant to, tell you what to charge a customer. That decision — and the responsibility for it — is entirely yours.
Garbage in, garbage out
Every calculation is only as accurate as the numbers you put in. If your material costs, labor rates, or measurements are wrong or out of date, the resulting estimate will be too. Always double-check your inputs, and re-verify any figure before putting it in front of a customer.
No liability for business outcomes
We aren't responsible for losses, disputes with your customers, underbid jobs, or any other business outcome that results from relying on a number this Site produced. See the Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.
